Tinnitus and vertigo in chronic kidney disease patients: an observational study at tertiary care centre

Background: Chronic kidney disease is characterized by the progressive and irreversible loss of function over a period months years. Due to antigenic similarity, cochlea have similar physiological mechanisms namely active transport fluid electrolytes achieved stria vascularis in glomeruli kidney. Objective was inspect relation between hemodialysis development tinnitus vertigo CKD patients.Methods: Prospective observational study conducted at Srinivas Institute medical science, Mangalore, 88 patients were enrolled this study.Results: Out studied 09 (10.22%) complain tinnitus, 12 (13.63%) vertigo, 48 (54.54%) had both remaining 19 (21.59%) didn’t develop any or symptoms. The pure tone audiometry results these individuals indicative inner ear pathology. statistical analysis done using SPSS 22.Conclusions: Vertigo are common with haemodialysis chronic as 78.40% affected either both.
